Haghi, Crouse's mechanical engineering support manager, with emphasizing on importance of R&D activities in automotive industries says “R&D centers play a vital role in leading companies, R&D centers involve in new product development as well as optimizing and updating of current products. To increase our market share we focus on product cost reduction and wide range high quality products. To achieve these goals Crouse has always been paying particular attention to R&D since establishment.”
He said, automotive parts manufacturing without R&D activities are not sustainable. He says “Local automotive industries growth is tied to R&D. By widespread investment in R&D, Crouse has taken great strides in automotive industries enhancement. Many localized automotive parts confirm this particular attention to R&D.”
He says “Normally, such as any other fields, automotive R&D activities are a long-term process and a typical project outcome appearance will take more than one year. Recognizing this, Crouse timely start of projects brings the results at a right time.”
Haghi says “As our roles and responsibilities in vehicle mechanical systems division at Crouse R&D Center, we work on localization of vehicle wiring harness parts, lights, multimedia systems, instrument panels, remote controls, etc. Crouse modular vehicle electrical platform including body control module, ECU housing, fuse box, etc. will be usable in different vehicles just with minor modification.”
Regarding the procedure of localization project initiation, he says “Two full days per week, a specialized committee setups meeting with different business units to prioritize part localization projects by customer needs and based on technical, operational and economic feasibility study.”
Emphasizing in job creation and localization consequences of Crouse R&D activities, he says “Sanctions were a major motivator for localization of automotive parts in Iran. R&D activities were beginning by first period of sanctions at 2012 and expanded toward the second period. During these seven years we made more than 4000 molds, dies and different localized automotive parts that uses in OEMs nowadays. Crouse R&D activates has cut millions of dollars in foreign currency expenditure.”
